In the institutions of Iranian Medical Universities, the Board of Trustees is generally considered as an imperativeservingpart of the universities playing asuperior- constructive role in monitoring the affairs of the university. Indeed, the Board of Trustees facilitate makingvital decisions on behalf of the universities regardless of constitution of the country and in accordance with the requirements of the university.
Board of Trustees at the University of Medical Sciences and Health Services of Zanjanincludes 8 members who are making efforts toassist the university in accomplishing full-fledged objectives.

- Approving internal regulations.
- Reviewing and approving the financial plans of the university suggested by the Chancellor.
- Approving detailed budget of the university.
- Attracting financial/ instrumental supports from other private institutions taking into account the Rules of Council.
- Scrutinizing the reports of the university presented by the Chancellor.
