This unit consists of three parts: radiotherapy, CT scan and ultrasound
Radiology is the science that uses medical imaging to diagnose and sometimes also treat diseases within the body.
A variety of imaging techniques such as X-ray radiography, ultrasound, computed tomography (CT), nuclear medicine including positron emission tomography (PET), and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) are used to diagnose and/or treat diseases. Interventional radiology is the performance of (usually minimally invasive) medical procedures with the guidance of imaging technologies.
The acquisition of medical images is usually carried out by the radiographer, often known as a Radiologic Technologist. The Diagnostic Radiologist, a specially trained doctor, then interprets or "reads" the images and produces a report of their findings and impression or diagnosis. In some places, a Reporting Radiographer, a radiographer with advanced training, may also interpret basic images. This report is then transmitted to the Clinician who requested the imaging. The report can initially be made as a "wet-read" which is a rapid preliminary response to a clinical question, which will generally followed later by a final report.[1] Medical images are stored digitally in the picture archiving and communication system (PACS) where they can be viewed by all members of the healthcare team within the same health system and compared later on with future imaging exams
Imaging from deep body structures by recording echoes of ultra-sonic waves that have been sent toward Tissues or various intensities are reflected by the tissues.
Doppler sonography
A kind of sonography in which from the change of irradiated sound frequency and its reflection is used in order to measure the movement speed of a moving object. The basis of this is Doppler. The waves can be emitted continuously. This technique is often used to examine the blood flow of the cardiovascular system.
Computed tomography scan (CT-Scan)
It is a type of Imaging in which Cross-sectional images of structures of a body surface by changing the amount of X-ray absorption which is transmitted from an irradiation basis to the body is reformed by computer program.
Radiography (imaging) from Mammary glands
Intervention: (Non-vascular Intervention)
Intervening the actions such as perform sampling of lesions in various areas of the body and also for the treatment of certain lesions.
The medical imaging department of the center is equipped with the following devices:
1. Spiral CT-scan set, TOSHIBA X-Vision, made in japan
2. DDR
4. Fluoroscopy
5. Philips (Mammography)
6. Supersonic
